The United Kingdom is an island full of rich history, diverse cultures, and gorgeous landscapes. From bustling cities to picturesque countryside, this country offers something for every traveler. Sure, we might have a lot of rain, but there’s so much more to the U.K. than its sometimes dreary weather.
Whether you enjoy ancient castles or vibrant nightlife, the U.K. has everything. From Shakespeare to J.K. Rowling, the U.K. is the birthplace of many famous literary geniuses. And with that comes plenty of magical places to visit. Britain is also home to many museums, beautiful parks, and enchanting escapes – there’s so much to do.
Except for the few years I traveled around Europe, I was born and bred in England and have spent most of my life here. I have explored every corner of this beautiful country, and I share my tips along the way. So, join me as I explore the 17 best cities to visit in the United Kingdom!

I start with one of my favorite places in the United Kingdom, which holds a special place in my heart. Bath is where I met my husband and got engaged, at the romantic Prior Park. Bath is nestled in the picturesque countryside of southwest England. Known for its stunning Georgian architecture and natural hot springs, Bath is a gem waiting to be explored.
You cannot visit Bath without marveling at the iconic Roman Baths, where history comes alive amidst ancient ruins and bubbling thermal waters. The grandeur of the Royal Crescent and Circus will transport you back in time to an era of elegance and sophistication.
Walk along the quaint cobblestone streets lined with boutique shops, cozy cafes, and artisanal bakeries. Indulge in a traditional afternoon tea at my favorite tea room, Sally Lunn’s Buns, one of the oldest houses in Bath.
For those seeking relaxation, plunge yourself into luxury at Thermae Bath Spa, where pampering treatments and rooftop pools offer rejuvenation for body and soul. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been here, and each visit is as magical as the last. Sure, I’m biased, but Bath truly offers a sensory feast for all who visit.

They are the only traditional ghost merchants trading today, selling their unique ghoul creations. Just be warned that during holidays such as Christmas or Halloween, the queue is surprisingly long to get inside.
